Liverpool John Lennon Airport is one of the busiest airports of its size in the UK, with an incredible 5 million people passing through its main terminal doors every year. As most visitors arrive by car, it’s easy to see why the airport has invested in a variety of parking services. To help you find the right parking, JetParks have created this helpful guide filled with parking tips and tricks.
Pick-up & Drop-off at Liverpool Airport
Express Drop-off is the most convenient option for visitors who are leaving passengers at the airport, it’s situated directly outside the terminal doors and features a covered walkway between the cars and the building. However, if you’re picking up friends and family, or you want to save some money while dropping-off, you may want to consider using Drop-off 2 which is a five minute walk away from the terminal and completely free to use for up to 40 minutes. If you’re planning to spend any longer than an hour at the airport you should book short or long-stay parking.

Liverpool Airport Short-stay Parking
There’s a single large short-stay multi-storey parking garage at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. This is a brilliant choice for anyone meeting friends and family at the airport and it’s regularly patrolled so you can be sure that your vehicle will be perfectly safe. If you’re going to leave your car for longer than 24 hours it’s recommended that you consider long-stay parking as it will be far more cost-effective.

Liverpool Airport Long-stay Parking
Further away from the terminal than the short-stay parking, Liverpool Airport has several long-stay parking areas that generally become less expensive the further they are from the airport. Most long-stay parking is within a ten minute walk of the terminal doors, so it’s still fairly easy to get to and from the airport with heavy luggage. The long-stay carparks have a minimum stay of 24 hours and can hold cars for several weeks at a time.

Liverpool Airport Terminal Guide
Liverpool is a smaller airport with only a single terminal, so there’s no need to worry about whether the parking you choose is the right one for your flight. All carparks have good travel links to and from the terminal.
Hotels at Liverpool Airport
With both a Hampton by Hilton and Premier Inn within walking distance of the main terminal doors it’s possible to beat traffic by travelling to the airport the night before your flight and staying over. This is a particularly good option if you have a morning flight as the roads around Liverpool can become extremely congested.
Helpful Hints for Visiting Liverpool Airport
Get There Early: If you’re travelling to the airport on the day of your departure make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to and from the airport. If possible, keep up to date with local traffic reports as there are often alternative routes with less congestion.
Avoid Fines: Many travellers have been caught out by the infamous red-lined ‘Red Route No Stopping’ zones around the airport leading to heavy fines. Take extra care to obey the rules of the road and park correctly in the right areas to avoid any problems.
